RBC 2016 - Sabbath Message: There is Good News... In Recession, Small Businesses Get Patronized and Many Multi-millionaires are Created

Date: Saturday, 3rd of December, 2016.
Preacher: Pastor Reuben Onwubiko
Bible reading: 2nd Corinthians 9:8

The last day of the Victory Sanctuary's Righteous Billionaires' Conference featured two sessions. The first session had Pastor Reuben Onwubiko, speaking to the church on a message "Wealth Creation".
Read the message below...

We are special people, and that is why regardless what is happening in the country, we have abundance. He (God) is the one that does and owns everything. As the global economy became very bad, even health services became very ineffective.

God works in mysterious ways. Even though there is problem everywhere, He is going to bring His people to bring solutions to the world. It is such a blessing to see different people selling the same thing or doing the same business as yours, but you are the one that customers patronize the most. If God  blesses the work of your hands, people just prefer your own, 2nd Corinthians 9:8 says - you will have all that you need at all times.

Pastor Onwubiko while delivering the sermon

What is this recession that everyone is talking about?

Recession is brought from four words - Economic Recess In On, which means economic activities is slowed down or stopped. Back in high school days, some students used to jump fence to leave school. I learnt that those boys didn't respect recess. I'm trying to let you know that recession has respect for no economic activity. Now there is increase in income losses, job opportunities reduces, companies downsizing, children getting pulled out of school to cheaper ones, or even out of school totally. I have come to announce that as children of God, things are not going to be hard for us.

The congregation during sermon
There was a time of 'Ghana-must-go' in Nigeria, when Ghanaians were where everywhere in Nigeria, they were later asked to go back to their country. In Ghana, Nigeria-must-go also happened. Nigerians now, have taken over activities, and crime in South Africa and there has also been Nigeria-must-go there. Even in Equatorial Guinea, there was also Nigeria-must-go, people (Nigerians) were being sent back in truck load.

The economy has gone on recess, and broken. People's spending habits have changed, from being able to show that they have made money, people now demonstrate that they can produce. People now focus on hierarchy of needs. When recession began, our behaviours changed, people now begin to save money. More people are forced to retire early, and when somebody is not prepared and it happens, it is a problem.

You must learn to produce more, be more productive - emergency fund is very important. You need to save more so that when something happens, you can take care of yourself. There is good news... in recession, small businesses usually get patronized. Many multi-millionaires are created during recession. And also you can't do without hearing from God - Jeremiah 3:3.

Proverbs 11:4 says, "for lack of guidance, a people fall". It is important to know what God is saying!

Which solution do you want to be? Don't go about asking ..."what is happening in this Nigeria sef?"

As you go, answer these two questions, as the economy gets worse, what is it that people will do that you will join yourself with? Secondly, no matter how bad the economy gets, what is it that people must do?

The following are 3 needs that fall in the category of those questions that I have asked, they are;
Physical, Safety, and Relationship needs.

Do something to satisfy one or all of these needs of people, and you will be blessed.
